Freshwater pH/Alkalinity Down provides spa owners with a quick-dissolving granular formula to lower pH levels. Freshwater pH/Alkalinity Down slowly lowers pH levels to ensure accurate calculations to get the desired level. Your spas sanitizer will also operate better when not on the extremes of the pH scale, improving water quality. Hot tub water pH is the most important component of water balance next to the sanitizer. It determines how acidic or basic your water is. When the pH goes out of the proper range it can cause a lot of problems and even damage your spa. Unbalanced pH can cause your sanitizer (Chlorine, Bromine, Biguanide) to not work properly, corrosion, scale formation and more. pH should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.8.

First test your spa water with Freshwater 5-way Test Strips to see if your spa water’s pH and/or Alkalinity need adjustment.
